Anaheim: Arts & Entertainment

The Irvine Improv
Have a barrel full of laughs and a couple of frosty libations at the Irvine Improv. Uproarious comics such as Dave Chapelle, Adam Sandler, Darrell Hammond and Brian Regan have all given laugh-out-loud performances here. For a dollop of hilarity, the Irvine Improv delivers big time. Call (949) 854-5455 for a current list of up 'n coming shows. (71 Fortune Drive # 841, Irvine, CA 92618)

Grove of Anaheim
Enjoy a musical performance or show at the one of the best theatres in Orange County. You'll find an assortment of different entertainers from the classic rock of Pat Benatar to the eccentric comedy of Dennis Miller to the smooth guitar riffs of Joe Satriani. Even better, these are dinner shows - what a remarkable combo platter. (2200 E. Katella Ave, Anaheim, CA 92806, 714.712.2700)

Artwalk - Downtown Anaheim
Wander through the streets of downtown and peruse the intriguing artwork. Follow the path marked with circular numbers, and along the way you'll encounter an entourage of inventive benches and pavement ensembles. Perhaps the most ponderous display is the "Hammer Clock". This fine piece of work, just chilling on the sidewalk, features a gargantuan hammer with a clock floating on top.

Eileen Kremen Gallery
Only ten minutes from Disneyland is a remarkable display of kaleidoscopes and hand-blown glass pieces. Come and view these mystical splendors at the Eileen Kremen Gallery. Then have a look in the gift shop and find some rather unique items. After all, how often do get to say to a loved one, "I got you a real snazzy kaleidoscope for your birthday. Let's see the world anew!" (619 N. Harbor Blvd., Fullerton, CA 92832, 714.879.1391. Hours: Tues-Sun 10am-5pm.)
